COLT LABOR FORCE

Welcome to The Colt Firm Construction Company

WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS BUILT FOR CONTRACTORS

Construction schedules depend on having the right people available at the right time.

The Colt Firm Labor Division helps companies respond to labor shortages, project deadlines, workforce expansion, emergency manpower needs, and new market opportunities.

Our workforce solutions may be structured for:

  • Short-term labor support
  • Project-based labor
  • Temporary skilled trades
  • Traveling construction crews
  • Trial-to-hire placements
  • Direct-hire recruiting
  • Subcontractor crew placement
  • Supplemental manpower
  • Long-term workforce development
  • Remote recruiting and sales support

Availability depends on trade, project location, qualifications, compensation, scheduling, travel requirements, and project conditions.

FOUR WAYS TO BUILD YOUR WORKFORCE

1. TEMPORARY AND PROJECT-BASED LABOR

Secure supplemental labor for active construction, industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, and development projects.

Temporary labor support allows contractors to increase or decrease manpower according to project demands without immediately adding permanent employees.

Temporary labor may be appropriate for:

  • Accelerated construction schedules
  • Labor shortages
  • Project mobilization
  • Large installation projects
  • Seasonal workloads
  • Shutdowns and turnarounds
  • Punch-list completion
  • Emergency replacement workers
  • Multi-state projects
  • Short-duration assignments

Companies may request an individual worker, specialized tradespeople, crew leaders, foremen, or complete labor crews.

2. TRIAL-TO-HIRE WORKFORCE PLACEMENT

Evaluate workers in a real project environment before making a long-term hiring decision.

The Colt Firm Labor Division can help coordinate structured trial periods based on the needs of the contractor and worker.

Trial periods may include:

  • 30-day evaluations
  • 60-day evaluations
  • 90-day evaluations
  • Project-completion evaluations
  • Performance-based conversion opportunities

Contractors can evaluate:

  • Attendance and dependability
  • Trade knowledge
  • Productivity
  • Workmanship
  • Safety awareness
  • Communication
  • Leadership ability
  • Jobsite professionalism
  • Compatibility with the existing team

Successful workers may be considered for permanent employment, subject to the contractor’s hiring requirements and the terms of the applicable agreement.

3. COLT LABOR NETWORK

The Colt Labor Network is designed to connect contractors, skilled workers, independent crews, subcontractors, recruiters, and workforce partners through one organized labor system.

Instead of relying exclusively on one local recruiter or a limited applicant pool, participating companies can access a broader recruiting and workforce-development network.

Network benefits may include:

  • Wider geographic recruiting reach
  • Increased applicant visibility
  • Multiple recruiting channels
  • Access to independent trade crews
  • Faster response to labor requests
  • Regional and nationwide workforce searches
  • Trade-specific recruiting campaigns
  • Project-specific labor campaigns
  • Improved communication between contractors and candidates

Each contractor remains responsible for reviewing qualifications and approving the workers assigned to its projects.

4. BUILD YOUR OWN RECRUITING DIVISION

The Colt Firm can help established contractors develop a dedicated remote recruiting and workforce-development operation.

This solution is intended for companies that regularly hire workers and want to create a more dependable internal labor pipeline.

Recruiting-division support may include:

  • Recruiting strategy
  • Job-posting development
  • Candidate intake systems
  • Applicant screening procedures
  • Interview scheduling
  • Remote recruiting representatives
  • Sales and business-development representatives
  • Worker database development
  • Subcontractor recruitment
  • Lead tracking
  • Follow-up systems
  • Workforce onboarding procedures
  • Performance reporting
  • Recruiting-team management

The objective is to help your company build a repeatable workforce system instead of beginning a new labor search every time a project starts.

INDUSTRIES WE SUPPORT

The Colt Firm Labor Division may provide workforce support for:

  • Commercial construction
  • Residential construction
  • Industrial construction
  • Steel buildings
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Warehouses and distribution centers
  • Agricultural buildings

  • Retail development
  • Hospitality construction
  • Medical facilities
  • Sports facilities
  • Data centers
  • Energy and utility projects
  • Property maintenance
  • Disaster-recovery projects

Core Steel Erection & Building Envelope Services

PEMB Erection

Primary Scope

Colt Firm Steel Erection provides complete PEMB erection support from anchor bolts to ridge cap. Our crews are experienced with primary and secondary structural steel, red iron systems, metal building framing, roof systems, wall systems, trim, and closeout detailing.

We support projects involving major metal building systems, including:

Butler | Nucor | BlueScope | Varco Pruden | Chief | Robertson-Ceco

Insulated Metal Panels

High-Demand Scope

Insulated metal panels require precision, sequencing, and proper installation practices. Colt Firm provides IMP wall and roof installation support for commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and data center projects.

Our IMP capabilities include:

Vacuum lifter operation, crane coordination, panel staging, joint sealing, trim installation, vapor barrier coordination, and commissioning-spec envelope execution.

We understand that IMP installation is not simply panel placement. It is part of the total building envelope system and must be installed with discipline, accuracy, and accountability.

Roofing Systems

Primary Scope

Colt Firm Steel Erection supports commercial and industrial metal roofing systems, including standing seam, R-panel, and exposed fastener systems.

Our roofing crews focus on proper fastener patterns, panel lapping, ridge detailing, trim installation, waterproofing, sealing, and weather-tight execution.

Wall Panel Systems

Standard Scope

We install liner panels, metal wall panels, insulated wall systems, and full-scope or task-specific wall panel packages.

Our crews work to keep wall systems plumb, aligned, sealed, and installed according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.

Insulation Systems

Standard Scope

Colt Firm supports single-layer and double-layer blanket insulation systems, vapor retarders, liner systems, and specialty energy-code-driven insulation packages.

We coordinate insulation with the broader building envelope to help support energy performance, code compliance, and long-term building protection.

Concrete Manpower Support

Supplemental Scope

Colt Firm can provide supplemental flatwork and site concrete manpower support using the same vetting, compliance, and accountability standards used for our steel erection crews.

This service is ideal for projects needing additional production manpower, slab support, site concrete assistance, or field labor reinforcement.

Data Center IMP & Envelope Support

Data Centers Run on Envelope Precision

IMP installation on a hyperscale data center is not the same as hanging panels on a standard warehouse. Data center envelope work requires tighter tolerances, more complex sequencing, specialized equipment, controlled access, site-specific safety compliance, and commissioning-driven installation standards.

Colt Firm Steel Erection provides vetted crew support for production schedules on GC-controlled sites, including rapid onboarding into site-specific safety programs, controlled insurance programs, and secure project environments.

Our teams understand the importance of waterproofing, air sealing, vapor control, joint integrity, and finish quality on data center and mission-critical projects.

IMP & Envelope Capabilities

Colt Firm supports IMP and envelope scopes that require precision, documentation, and disciplined field execution.

Capabilities include:

Vacuum lifter operations with major IMP systems, including Kingspan, Metl-Span, CENTRIA, MBCI, and other leading manufacturers.

Crane signaling, rigging coordination, panel staging, controlled lifts, and sequencing support on active jobsites.

Commissioning-driven joint sealing, waterproofing, vapor barriers, trim, fastener patterns, and finish quality.

Site-specific safety orientation, daily job hazard analysis, toolbox talks, and safety documentation support.

OCIP and CCIP onboarding support with documentation-ready crew packages.

Why Colt Firm Steel Erection

Veteran-Owned Discipline

Colt Firm brings military discipline, accountability, communication, and clear chain of command to the jobsite.

We understand that construction success depends on preparation, safety, execution, and leadership in the field.
